Say goodbye to Mr. Kringle.......

It's that dreaded time of year - putting away all of the Christmas decorations. I absolutely love having them out, and even though I know it is time for them to go bye-bye, I will miss my friends. We collect santas - and this guy is one of my favorites. I thought I would grab a shot of him before he gets tucked away in his little box.

Until next year Mr. Kringle.......

Happy New Year!!!!

Gotta love fresh starts. Opportunities to reflect back, think of all the memories created in the past year. Some good, some bad. The good ones we store away in our hearts and latch on to them in dark times. The bad ones, we tuck away, as well - but not before we learn from them. There is always something to learn, something to cherish - everyday of our lives. This photography challenge is affording me the chance to document all of those things. And sharpening my photojournalistic skills is a bonus I get along the journey.

Thanks to all who visit. HHCC & Comments are always welcomed.

no wonder they were all dark -
lesson learned.

SECURITY 1.01.07
Picture of my youngest son, Ross, and his blanket - otherwise referred to as "giki". This thing is so beat up. We had to cut it in two and create 2 seperate blankets. This way we could atleast sneak one away from him while he is sleeping and wash it. Oh the measures we parents go through to provide our children with security. It's one of the most important jobs I will ever have, so I will go to great lengths.
Not only is this blanket security to my son - as he runs the fringe through his fingers - the picture itself is security for me. I am relieved to see the pink in his cheeks, and in his fingers. And the dirty fingernails - well, that just means he was out and about being a typical 2 year old. I love it. I love him. I love the "giki". It has gotten us through some pretty tough times. It is his favorite companion.
